WHY AUREO?
Our eyes have blue photon receptors (melanopsins). The purpose of these receptor proteins is to inform the brain that it is daytime. Want to fool the master organ? It doesn't seem like a good idea. Lying always has consequences.
The main one is the total deactivation of the nocturnal repair and maintenance program, governed by melatonin, and carried out by autophagy and apoptosis.
Blue light at night destroys melatonin. Purple, indigo, red, orange, yellow lights do not activate melanopsins, so they do not have the same destructive effect on circadian rhythms.
So, when the Sun goes down, the NIGHT mode is absolutely necessary unless your home or the place you are in has zero blue light. Otherwise, you end up paying the consequences in the form of neolithic disease.
As you can see, with each frame you can choose two types of lenses:
NIGHT, made of orange/red glass (you already know what its use is, purely nocturnal).
DIA, yellow crystal.
What does this mean? The red color indicates that the lenses have a red/orange filter that does not let through the rainbow colors above them. Although filters are never immediate (and that's how they should be). Yellow means that the cutoff is higher up and therefore lets through some blue light.
Thus, yellow lenses are recommended for daytime, since whenever the Sun is overhead we should receive some blue light. The brain must know that it is daytime. If we put on red glasses during the day we would be tricking the master organ into thinking that it is nighttime (the blue photons do not reach the melanopsins and do not activate the clock genes).
WHEN TO USE DAY GLASSES?
People who work on computers, mobile phones or in office environments with LEDs or fluorescent lights receive a huge excess of blue light, much more than the sun itself emits. These glasses filter out the excess amount of blue, providing a more pleasant environment and more natural signage. Indoor life is toxic. And so is the indoor light environment, even if it is natural light coming through the window.
Therefore, if these are your conditions, you should consider DIA lenses in your glasses. The ideal is to have both models, DIA and NOCHE.
DIA's are also useful for eating in restaurants (during the day), entering supermarkets, etc. Some might see it as frivolous, but they are completely unnatural environments for which evolution never prepared us.
Aureo has an advantage over other brands, because it is backed by an eye health professional. Due to this feature of Aureo, the lenses are CE certified as a medical product. In fact, the red ones (night model) are medically indicated for people with retinitis pigmentosa, who should never see artificial blue light (no one should). They are made in a European laboratory that specifically manufactures the lenses for each frame.
Blueblock glasses. Choose the frame you like best and select the lenses that block blue light according to your needs:
DIA lenses – protect the eyes from excess blue light from screens or artificial lighting during the work day (yellow tint)
NIGHT lenses – ideal for regulating circadian rhythms and the secretion of melatonin to facilitate rest (orange-red tone)
All our lenses are custom made for the selected frame, in a European laboratory to ensure maximum quality and precision with the necessary light cut.
